The 2022 China Building Waterproofing Association Tile Roof Technology Branch Annual Meeting ended in Nanjing

On July 27, the 8th Tile Roofing Technology and Market Seminar 2022, a parallel forum of the 3rd Waterproofing Industry Conference 2022, co-organized by Wade New Materials, was held at the Grand Buckingham Hotel in Nanjing. Mr. Xie Fuqiang, Chairman of Wade New Materials, led a team to attend the event.

Nine industry experts shared and interpreted cutting-edge technological achievements in tile roofing, as well as advanced domestic tile roofing products and application solutions. The meeting reviewed and summarized the work of the Tile Roofing Technology Branch from 2021 to the first half of 2022, and announced the decision on personnel changes in the Secretariat of the Tile Roofing Technology Branch.

The annual meeting of the Tile Roofing Technology Branch was presided over by Mr. Hu Xibao, Director of the Industry Department of the China National Building Waterproof Association.

Mr. Xian Yongbiao, Vice President of the China National Building Waterproof Association, delivered an opening speech.

Mr. Hu Jun, member of the Expert Committee of the China National Building Waterproof Association, delivered a speech.

On behalf of the co-organizer, Mr. Xie Fuqiang, Rotating Chairman of the Tile Roofing Technology Branch of the China National Building Waterproof Association and Chairman of Handan Wade New Building Materials Co., Ltd., delivered a speech.

Mr. Xiao Jun, Secretary-General of the Tile Roofing Technology Branch of the China National Building Waterproof Association and General Manager of Yongdening International Trade (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., delivered the Work Report of the Tile Roofing Technology Branch 2021–2022.

Mr. Wan Shanqing, Deputy Secretary-General of the China National Building Waterproof Association, read the Decision on Adjusting the Deputy Secretary-General of the Second Leading Body of the Tile Roofing Technology Branch. Due to work relocation, Mr. Shang Huasheng no longer served as Deputy Secretary-General of the Second Tile Roofing Technology Branch, and Mr. Hu Xibao was appointed to the position.

Ms. Miao Yan, Executive Vice President of the China National Building Waterproof Association, presented the certificate of Deputy Secretary-General of the Tile Roofing Branch to Mr. Hu Xibao.

The seminar session was chaired by Mr. Zhou Zhijun, Chairman of Jiatai Roofing (Tianjin) Technology Development Co., Ltd., and Mr. Xiao Jun.

Mr. Gao Minjie, Senior Engineer of China Building Materials Test & Certification Group Suzhou Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote report entitled Wind-Driven Rain Test on Tile Roofs. He introduced that the wind-driven rain test method is an important part of the revision of the Technical Specification for Sloped Roofing Engineering. Relevant manufacturers are being organized to conduct verification in accordance with this method, and enterprises are welcome to participate and provide accurate data for the formulation of the standard.

Mr. Qin Yi, Chairman of the Tile Roofing Technology Branch of the China National Building Waterproof Association and Former General Manager of Monier China, delivered a report Exploration of Near-Zero Energy Consumption for Sloped Roofs. He stated that near-zero energy, zero energy and ultra-low energy consumption are currently popular concepts, and looked forward to ordinary residential buildings achieving this goal in the future.

Mr. Lai Yanpeng, Deputy General Manager of Handan Wade New Building Materials Co., Ltd., delivered a report Concrete tile Design: The Carbon Neutrality Concept of Harmony Between Human and Nature, popularizing basic knowledge of concrete tiles and focusing on the introduction of Wade’s “Guantao” series and other concrete tile products.

Mr. Pan Yang, Deputy General Manager of Goodwe PV Building Materials, delivered a report Waterproof Structure Design of BIPV System for Sloped Roofs, elaborating on the waterproof structure in the BIPV system and emphasizing the important role of waterproofing in BIPV systems.

Mr. Zhang Guangyin, BIPV Product Director of Yongdening Solar (China), delivered a report Wind-Driven Rain Performance Test of PV Tile Roof System. He shared test data of wind-driven rain experiments from Yongdening and noted that the company would further cooperate with CTC Suzhou to carry out verification tests and complete data collection.

Mr. Kong Lingming, Technical Director of Foshan Rongguan Glass Building Materials Co., Ltd., delivered a report The Importance of Accessory Tiles in Roof Waterproofing. He pointed out that accessory tiles are essential for the connection of main roof tiles, achieving an integral and exquisite roof system and solving roof leakage.

Mr. Niu Lancheng, General Manager of Oriental Yuhong Tile Roofing System Co., Ltd., delivered a report Discussion on Sloped Roof Construction Methods Under the Implementation of New Mandatory Codes. The report disclosed parts of the new mandatory codes, noting that they would bring greater market opportunities while raising higher requirements for tile roofing construction.

Mr. Mi Xing, Chief Engineer of Beijing Jinxin Yaju Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a report How to Achieve Effective Joint Waterproofing in Tile Roofing Projects, stressing that joint construction is the key to waterproofing works and a prerequisite for zero leakage.

Mr. Wang Tiancai, General Manager of Zhejiang Manzhu Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd., delivered a report on the CECS standard Technical Specification for Chinese Style Tile Roofing Engineering. He noted that this is China’s first specialized code for the design, construction, materials and quality acceptance of Chinese-style tile roofing projects. It has been basically completed and will provide unified national standards for tile production, roof design and construction quality acceptance.

With this, the 2022 Annual Meeting of the Tile Roofing Technology Branch of China National Building Waterproof Association & the 8th Tile Roofing Technology and Market Seminar came to a successful conclusion.
